Dismantling

Airbag Recycling with effective devices

For the neutralization of multiple airbags installed in vehicles, SEDA developed the MultiPlex. For single neutralization or for recyclers with a low volume of airbags, the SinglePlex START is the ideal solution. Once removed, the airbags can be neutralized in the Airbag Neutralization Cabin (ANC).

Optimize your vehicle recycling with SEDA

Airbag Recycling by SEDA

We are your expert partner when it comes to airbag recycling. Whether you have questions or need the necessary accessories, we have what you’re looking for. The removal of functional or damaged airbags should only be done with the proper equipment and expertise, as the activation mechanism contains pyrotechnic elements.

These pyrotechnic components can be easily triggered in end-of-life vehicles using our MultiPlex, making the subsequent removal of the remaining components much simpler and safer. The device tests all lines before triggering, and the neutralization can be carried out from a safe distance. The SEDA MultiPlex is suitable for all vehicle types and can safely and controlled trigger any airbag for recycling. The pink cables are connected to the vehicle’s wiring harness and allow the safe activation of the pyrotechnic components via a two-finger safety system. Additionally, the integrated control unit displays all available airbags, allowing for targeted and sequential activation. The MultiPlex is compact, includes all necessary components, and can be powered either by a standard battery or through a cable connected to a car battery.

Safe and effective

Airbag Dismantling

We offer effective devices for the safe activation and recycling of airbags. Transport, storage, and handling also involve special requirements. For example, with the SEDA anti-static set, you can avoid any electrostatic buildup in the loading area.

Every year, countless vehicles are taken out of service and expertly recycled. One of the essential steps in this process is airbag recycling. Since airbags require special safety measures, specific equipment is also needed. We also offer various equipment for the actual airbag recycling process.

The Airbag Neutralization Cabin (for already removed airbags) also neutralizes the risks of fine dust residue and noise pollution. Proper neutralization and airbag recycling can thus be carried out more conveniently and, most importantly, more safely. The cabin allows for dust-free airbag activation and provides connections for up to three airbags at once (e.g., seatbelt tensioners). Through a filter extraction system and air pipe, fine dust is removed.
