On 5th October 2021, a fire occurred at the E-Auto Recycling Center in Kössen. The emergency services were immediately on the scene. No persons were injured.
We would like to point out at this point
– that only HV-approved personnel have access to the building.
– that all activities are carried out in accordance with the R19 guidelines.
– that all batteries are checked to ensure that they are free of hazards.
– that hazardous batteries are stored in a designated safety container.
– that the electric vehicle exhibited in the building has been inactive for 6 months and has no damage in the HV area.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and is a matter of ongoing investigation.

Finally, we want to emphasize that the dangers are always aware of us and we act according to the best knowledge of the r19 guidelines. This incident proves that the risks that can arise around the topic of electric vehicles and lithium-ion batteries are not to be underestimated. There are some areas of the electric vehicle recycling process that are not yet sufficiently tested and standardized. For this reason, we urge all involved (, etc. Automobile manufacturers, fire brigade, towing services, recyclers, authorities, district main team, civil engineer, expert) to contact us in even more closer contact. We need the best possible, safest solutions for the complete exploitation chain. The company Seda would look forward to technical support in this regard.

A big thank you to the emergency services, especially the fire department Kössen, Schwendt, Bichlach, Walchsee and Reit in Winkl (D).
