SEDA vehicle recycling live in Munich<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

From the 4th to 7th of May 2026, SEDA Umwelttechnik GmbH from K\u00f6ssen, Tyrol, together with the BDSV (soon to be known as CMA), presented one of the most comprehensive live demonstrations in the field of vehicle recycling at IFAT 2026 in Munich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its 60th anniversary year \u2013 IFAT Munich has been the global meeting place for the environmental technology sector since 1966 \u2013 the world\u2019s leading trade fair has set new records: around 3,400 exhibitors and some 142,000 visitors attended the fair from the 4th to 7th of May 2026. Companies from around 60 countries and regions presented innovative solutions for water, recycling and circularity across 300,000 square metres \u2013 and with them, answers to some of the most pressing global challenges. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Recycling live outdoors<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the South Outdoor Area (FS911), the entire vehicle recycling process was demonstrated live four times a day. Visitors were able to follow the whole process up close \u2013 from the arrival of the vehicle through to dismantling and the handling of modern high-voltage batteries. The live demonstrations attracted considerable international interest throughout the exhibition. Both industry experts and the SEDA team were on hand to answer technical questions and engage in specialist discussions. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Vehicle preperation<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Once the vehicles had been delivered and stored, the actual recycling process began with the preparation of the vehicle. First, each vehicle was digitally recorded in the computer system. Based on this data, a decision was made as to which components were suitable for resale and which would be returned to the raw materials cycle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A key feature of the process demonstrated was the forklift-free operation. The vehicle was placed on a SEDA vehicle trolley<\/a> and moved around the facility without the use of forklifts. This method is becoming increasingly common in modern recycling facilities, as it reduces maintenance costs whilst minimising the risks associated with forklift traffic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
